Grandma's Banana Cake with Caramel Frosting

This is one of my daddy's favorite cakes.
I didn't actually like it at first, but I am now loving it.
Get ready for a mind explosion.

Banana Cake

Ingredients:
                2 eggs                                       1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 C Sugar                                      1/2 tsp Salt
          1/2 C Margarine                      3/4 C buttermilk or sour milk
1 C mashed banana                                 1 tsp vanilla
           2 C Flour                               1tsp baking powder


Step 1:
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9x13 pan. 

Step 2:
Cream together eggs, sugar and margarine until fluffy. Add bananas.

Step 3:
In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Alternately add milk and flour mixture to went ingredients until well combined.
Stir in Vanilla

Step 4:
Bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick can come out clean.
Cool and top with caramel frosting.

Caramel Frosting

Ingredients:
1/2 C Butter                    1/4 C Milk
1 C packed brown sugar                2 C Powdered Sugar 

Step 1:
In a sauce pan melt butter.
Stir in brown sugar, bring to a boil.
Boil for 2 minutes stirring constantly.
Add milk slowly.
Stir slowly until mixture boils again.

Step 2:
Remove from heat, and cool.
Add powdered sugar, beat until creamy.
Add a dash of hot water if icing becomes to stiff.

Done!
super yummy in the tummy tum tum.
